Sure, cheeseburgers are delicious. Sometimes though, we like to switch it up. These Greek(ish) lamb burgers are full of flavor and a cinch to make! We’re particularly fond of the of the feta yogurt sauce, so we slather it on both sides of the bun. If you end up with anything left over, it’s a perfect dip for raw veggies or pita chips.
YIELDS:4 SERVINGSPREP TIME:0 HOURS 10 MINSTOTAL TIME:0 HOURS 35 MINSINGREDIENTS1/2 c. full-fat Greek yogurt1/4 c. crumbled feta2 tsp.freshly chopped mint1 tsp. lemon juice1 tsp. Kosher salt1 tsp. Freshly ground black pepper1 tsp. ground lamb1 tsp. hamburger buns1/4 red onion, thinly sliced into roundsArugula, for serving
DIRECTIONS- In a medium bowl, stir to combine yogurt, feta, mint, and lemon zest. Season with salt and pepper.
- Divide ground lamb into 4 equally sized patties. Make an indent with your thumb in the center of each patty, and season both sides generously with salt and pepper.
- Heat a large cast iron skillet over medium-high heat. Add burgers and cook until crisp on the outside and still slightly pink in the center, 6 minutes per side for medium.
- Spread each top and bottom bun with yogurt sauce. Top with the patty, red onion, arugula, and top bun.
